Is Noise the New Pop?

WINNIPEG, MB, November 15, 2013 /

24-7PressRelease/ -- Winnipeg Avant-garde Guitarist Pim Zond announced today he will be releasing his newest music single track on iTunes and elsewhere online on November 11, 2013.

His newest single, an electronic film soundtrack influenced song entitled "Clockwork Is Sad", is the newest song to come from electronic guitarist Pim Zond. Following in the heels of his avant-metal track "Dirty Cell Slaves", Clockwork Is Sad is a calmer, some say incredible calming music release, but no less unique. A contrast in styles Zond says, he freely explores every music genre and breaks all their rules, or at least bends them a little. Both singles are too appear on his next album "Ethical Treatment of Machines" due for release near the end of the year. Other albums available are: "23 Years of Fear", "Distant Relations", and "Monodon Monoceros (Narwhal)".

More About Pim Zond

Pim Zond is a Canadian experimental / avant-garde guitarist and recording artist active in free-improvisation, noise, avant-metal, and free-jazz genres.

With his fascination with film soundtracks, Anton Webern, Frank Zappa, Reeves Gabrels, Adrian Belew and Derek Bailey, Zond strives to obtain as wide an array of sounds than those typically heard at that particular moment in time, under the conditions with the chosen devices or instruments.

He uses light-fingered tones and harmonics, psycho-billy fragments, only to become dominated by fierce but brief Marc inspired noise riff attacks. This builds to a high point until unusual handmade string instruments can be deployed to explore low-tension tunings, and discordant harmonic conceptualizations feeding back with computerized a-rhythmic accompaniments.

His current guitars are a customized Metropolis electronic guitar with joystick control, a 9 string semi-acoustic travel guitar, a 1960's Saturn 5 acoustic, and a 1960's Audition electric guitar which he got at 10 years of age, and a wide array of new and vintage effects pedals.

Added to the mix is a Chinese Moon guitar of his own design created from found objects called the "Dead Ring". This 5 string semi-acoustic guitar is featured as the world's largest Mandolin Guitar (22") in a world record at recordsetter.com, along with his playing of the the world's Smallest Mandolin (2"), also a world record. And now in completion a double neck plastic aluminum outsider art instrument called "reDDneXX". He counts among his varied social media followers; Eminem, Five Finger Death Punch, Boris, Jack White and John McLaughlin.

Pim Zond's current album "Monodon Monoceros" is available on iTunes, Amazon.com, and elsewhere, including physical CD via CD BABY and in-store via Alliance entertainment.
